Phakama Pop Up 2012

An International participatory Festival to rehearse new possibilities

Phakama, working closely with QMUL Department of Drama, will deliver a festival created during a 2-week creative residency for young people and emerging artists. Through its participatory methodology and rigorous artistic process the  Phakama Pop Up will embrace experimentation, participatory processes, public performances, exhibitions and intercultural creative dialogues in partnership with young people, artists with a proven track record in participatory practice, international and national partners and organisations based in East London.

Phakama Pop Up will create a much-needed space for young people from the UK and across the world, to explore some of our world’s most pressing challenges. It will enable participants to experiment, develop new skills, collaborate, exchange ideas, rehearse and celebrate new ways of living and making art in response to the world now.

We are still fundraising to make Phakama Pop Up happen so if you want to donate to our training programme please visit our BigGive page here
