South America
SA/UK Exchange
2006-2010
This ongoing training programme involves international exchanges between artists, community leaders and young people from Fundacion Defensores del Chaco (Argentina), Cia Novos Novos (Brazil) and Project Phakama UK. It allows participants to explore an array of arts skills and perform in diverse community settings. The first phase was staged in Argentina in 2006. Phase two, Artes e Pontes, took place in Brazil in 2008. And phase three is scheduled for summer 2009.
This will be London’s chance to catch a talented team presenting their work. Young people and artists from all three countries will put on a large-scale performance. They will also run workshops for secondary and graduate level students in partnership with educational institutions with an interest in South American studies.
